Security that Never Fails

“He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliver, He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him. “ Psalms 144:2a

Hey friend!

Where do you feel the most secure? Is your security found in a place or in a person? I’m most secure when I’m at home and with my family. For me, it’s my safe space. No matter what has gone on in my day, I know I can rest easy when I’m with the people I love. Maybe you feel the same.

It’s comforting to know that we have a source that is even greater than any earthly person or place that offers security. David knew this source very well. In Psalms 144:1, David says, “Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for warfare.” He goes on to say in verse 2, “He is my faithful love and my fortress, my stronghold, and my deliver. He is my shield, and I take refuge in Him.”

Our great God is the very best source of security. As Tony Evans says, “To put this in football terminology, we would say that God is the ultimate defensive line. No opposition can break through. No other source of protection is reliable.”

Sweet friend, you can count on Jesus to be the only source of security that will never fail.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being the kind of God that never fails. You are my faithful love and my fortress. You are my stronghold and my deliver. You are my shield. Thank you for your faithfulness. I take refuge in you, and I know that you will never let me go. I love you – thank you for loving me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
