When You Feel Like You Are All Alone
“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8
Hey friend!
I have a confession. There are times when the weight of being a mama seems more than I can bear. So many questions flood my mind like, “Am I doing enough?”, “Am I being too hard or not hard enough?” And there are times when I feel like I am all alone in my struggle and that no one understands. Can you relate?
During these moments, it’s important to dig into God’s Word and allow Him to remind us that we truly aren’t alone. I absolutely love the entire chapter of Psalms 124.
1) If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now many Israel say, 2) if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, 3) then they would have swallowed us up, when their wrath was kindled against us; 4) then the flood would have overwhelmed us, the torrent would have passed over our lives; 5) then the surging waters would have gone over us. 6) Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us for a prey to their teeth. 7) We have escaped as a bird out of the snare of the hunters; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8) Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Sweet friend, I can relate to this entire passage. No matter what trial or difficulty we face in this life, we can be encouraged that we don’t walk through it alone. Our amazing God is right there – going before us and fighting for us. If it hadn’t of been for God’s mercy, help, and grace in my life, there is no way I would even be here today. I’m sure you could say the same thing.
The flood of doubt, hardships, and insecurities might try to overwhelm us but God is greater. He is our rescue. He is our hope.
Whatever struggle you are wrestling with, remember that you are not alone. You have a helper that is greater than any earthly help could ever dream of being.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for never leaving me or forsaking me. Thank you for reminding me of your presence in my life and for reminding me that I am not alone. I praise you for the storms – even though they are difficult – you are with me and you carry me when I can’t stand on my own. Help me to keep looking to you for guidance. Give me wisdom and strength to be the mama you have called me to be. In Jesus name, Amen.
