A Prayer For the Wearied Soul

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 NKJV

Hey friend!

How is your soul today?

For me, things seem fine on the surface. But only on the surface. Underneath, there is a current that is threatening to pull me under. Many situations are going on around me that I deeply wish I could control or at least help guide the outcome for the better. Circumstances that I have prayed gut-wrenching prayers over that I still don’t see deliverance coming anytime soon. I’m not going to sugarcoat it- It’s been difficult to walk through.

But no matter what hardship I’m currently walking through, I’m uplifted when I allow God’s word to flood over my soul. It’s amazing how much His word is life-giving even in the darkest times.

John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Sweet friend, we don’t have to carry these burdens alone. The truth of the matter is that we were never meant to in the first place. With every burden that comes our way, we are promised peace that transcends anything this world offers. It’s God’s peace, and it is the kind of peace that can settle an unsettled soul. My prayer for you is that you feel God’s peace wrap you up like a blanket as you cast all your care on Him.

Heavenly Father,

I lift up my friend right now. - the one that is reading these words. Only you know what is weighing heavy on her heart. Only you know the burdens that keep her up at night or the tears that she cries on her pillow. You know every anxious thought. You never meant for her to walk alone in this heaviness. I speak the name of Jesus over her right now and ask that you help her with whatever it is that has her soul troubled. I pray that she feels your presence so strongly and that she feels you wrapping her up in the blanket of your peace – the peace that passes all of our understanding. May you be glorified through everything that we say and do. I love you, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
