Trusting In the Promise Keeper

“The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 CSB

Hey friend!

Have you ever been disappointed and heartbroken by broken promises?

I sure have. It’s hard to understand the hurt when it happens but it is even more difficult when the promise is broken by someone you trusted and care deeply about.

Dealing with a cycle of broken promises can lead to a heart that is scared to trust even the most trustworthy of people. But sadly, it doesn’t stop there. When life’s circumstances don’t seem to be going our way and we can’t understand where God is in the process, we can start to doubt God’s love and His goodness. We can start to think that He can’t be trusted to keep His word.

2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.”

It’s so important to remind ourselves of God’s character especially when we can’t trace His hand during hard times. God’s character is etched all throughout scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Not only can our God be trusted to keep His promise, He is also patient and full of mercy. He will never, ever turn His back on us when we need Him.

Sweet friend, I’m not sure what specific needs you have today but God knows. Rest assured that you can place your full trust in the ultimate promise keeper. He will never let you down. Run to Him – He’s waiting.

Dear God,

Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you that no matter who lets me down, you will never let me down. Thank you for being so patient with me and for always being there for me to talk to. You are such a good, good Father. Keep reminding me of your faithfulness – especially when I start to take my eyes off of you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
