A Prayer That Changes the Course of Eternity

“Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may quickly spread and be glorified, even as it did with you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1 MEV

Hey friend!

Who in the Bible challenges you the most in your life? For me, aside from Jesus being the obvious first choice, I would have to say it would be Paul. Paul’s commitment to God and to the advancement of the gospel challenges me straight to the core. He was a man of sold-out, bold faith and he never seemed to waver from His calling, no matter how difficult the trial was that came his way.

When Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, he wasn’t just changed for a few minutes or even a few days. Paul was a changed man permanently and His number one objective from then on was to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.  This challenges me because Paul didn’t allow the things of the world to trip him up like I have.  He had an eternal viewpoint that was locked in.

2 Thessalonians 3:1 states, “Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may quickly spread and be glorified, even as it did with you.”

Sweet friend, this is my prayer. Maybe it’s yours as well. This kind of prayer is a prayer that changes the course of eternity for the people we come into contact with. See, people are changed when the Word of God is shared. God promises that when His word goes out, it won’t return void (Isaiah 55:11)

When we allow ourselves to be used by God for His kingdom, we can’t help but be changed also. When we witness God move in the lives of those around us, there is absolutely no way we can stay the same either. We become blessed and God becomes glorified when we play a vital role of impacting someone’s eternity for the better.

Dear friend, let’s pray that the word of the Lord may quickly spread and be glorified, even as it was with Paul and many others and let’s pray that it begins with us. God’s Word is alive, powerful, and life changing!

Dear God,

Thank you for placing people down through history that have given us the example of what it looks like to live a life that is completely sold-out to you. Paul’s example challenges me. Give me boldness to share the good news of Jesus Christ and may your Word spread quickly in my sphere of influence through me.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
