Standing the Test of Time

“All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, But the Word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24-25 NJKV

There are many things in life that will come and go but there is one thing for certain – God’s Word will stand the test of time. Always and for all eternity.

His Word should always be our starting and ending place. We must use it in all areas of life as our compass and foundation. Why is this so important?

In a culture that is screaming out its own version of the truth, it’s even more imperative that we know what the Bible says about each topic and situation we encounter.

1 Peter 1:24-25 says, “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, But the Word of the Lord endures forever.”

Vs 23 tells us that God’s Word is living and abides forever. But that’s not the only verse that mentions that God’s Word is alive.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Everything on this earth will pass away but we can rest assured – God’s Word will stand when everything else crumbles.

Whatever situation you might be facing today, seek comfort in the pages of God’s Word. You will find rest there.

God,

Thank you for your Word. Thank you that when everything else fades away in this life – your Word stands the test of time and can be trusted. Keep my eyes on you and give me a hunger for your Word. I love you, In Jesus Name, Amen.
