When the Counterfeit is Calling
“But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 MEV
Hey Mama,
What lies has the enemy been whispering to you lately? Has he whispered that you are failing as a mama? Has he been whispering lies of comparison? Has he told you that you don’t have what it takes? He may not be whispering these specific lies to you, but I’m sure he is whispering some kind of lie to your soul. That is just how he operates. This is what he does to me time and time again.
If the enemy can get us to doubt God and doubt our identity, then he cripples us. This is why it is so important for us to identify the counterfeit lies and fight back with the truth of God’s word. We live in an age where there is an abundance of information flowing from every source, whether it is the internet, television, newspapers, books, and even social media strives to tell us what is important and what the truth is. Friend, only God’s word can be trusted as the truth on a matter.
God wants to remind us of our identity which comes from beholding Him. Our key verse says, “But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 MEV
As we seek to know God more, everything that we learn about His character and power is a mirror to us, reminding us of what we look like and who we are. The Bible tells us that when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, it is no longer we who lives but Christ living in us. This is why it is so important for us all to identify the counterfeits. If God calls us to boldness, the enemy will bring fear. If we need discernment, the enemy will send lies and deception. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control.” The fear and the lies are not from God.
As daughters of the King, these lies and deception can detour us for years if we don’t recognize them and take our stand on the truth. When we are able to identify the counterfeits, we are better equipped to rebuke the enemy and put him in his place.
We have been given everything to live out our true identity through Jesus Christ. Mama, lift your chin and stand up tall. You are a blood-bought daughter of the Almighty King. You are loved, forgiven, and redeemed. God goes before you and beside you to fight for you and to fight with you. You are NOT alone. Don’t believe the lies anymore. They just aren’t true. Claim who you are in Jesus and tell the enemy to flee!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for reminding me of who I am in you. I am chosen, forgiven, and free. Satan doesn’t have any power over me anymore. I take my place as your daughter and I command the enemy to flee in the name of Jesus. I will not be moved – I stand firmly on the Rock of my salvation. Fear – you are not welcome here. Lord, help me to recognize the counterfeits when the enemy sends them my way. Remind me of your truth. In Jesus Name, Amen.
