A Call to Praise
“Praise the Lord, all nations! Glorify Him, all peoples! For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah!” Psalms 117 CSB
Hey friend!
Do you have scripture passages that really stir your soul? I think we all could answer that question with a resounding Yes! Psalms 117 is one of those passages in scripture that really encourages my heart and stirs my soul. It challenges me to live a life of praise no matter what season or storm I walk through.
Psalms 117 says, “Praise the Lord, all nations! Glorify Him, all peoples! For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah!
If I’m honest, I don’t always live a lifestyle of praise. It’s easy to praise God when things are going well but it takes me a hot minute to praise Him when things are stormy. I seem to wrestle more with praise during the challenging times of life. Can you relate?
But I’m learning that my ability to praise God shouldn’t depend on my circumstances but rather on who He is - Psalm 117 gives us a glimpse into our great God’s character. Do you see it?
Vs. 2 says, “For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever.”
Sweet friend – God’s love for us is faithful and great and His faithfulness endures the most trying of times. It’s forever and ever! Our praise should hinge on who God is and not what God does or doesn’t do in our circumstances. I know that is easier said than done sometimes but it’s really the secret to unlocking joy in any situation.
Whatever you are facing today, I encourage you to praise God for His faithfulness. No matter how big or small – He is faithful, and He loves you so very much!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your faithful love towards me. Your love leaves me speechless. Your faithfulness endures forever – thank you for being who you are. Lord, I praise you for who you are. My soul echos the words of Psalm 117 – Praise the Lord – all nations – Glorify your holy name – all peoples – For your faithful love to us is so great that I can’t even wrap my head around why you love us so – Lord – Your faithfulness endures forever and ever. Your mercy is new every morning – Great is your faithfulness! Draw me closer to you every day – may my heart sing your praise no matter what I walk through. In Jesus name, Amen.
