From Dawn to Dusk

“From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.” Psalms 113:3 CSB

Hey friend!

Have you ever thought about how many things happen in a day between the rising of the sun and its setting? Situations and emotions ranging from good to bad, happy to sad, excitement, fears, and anxieties only skim the surface of the plethora of circumstances and raging emotions that can either make our day or shatter our world.

Psalm 113:3 is one of my all-time favorite verses. It says, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.”

Now you must know that it’s not my favorite because I have perfected it. Quite the opposite. Psalm 113:3 challenges me deeply.

See, I don’t always praise the Lord in every circumstance. But I should. Not because I love to experience difficult situations but because God is sovereign no matter the situation.

I don’t know what season of life you are up against. I don’t know what difficult news you have had to hear either. But I do know that God is good, and His goodness isn’t dependent upon the difficulties we face in life.

If praising God for your difficult circumstance is too hard FOR this moment, praise Him for who He is IN this moment.

Psalms 116:5 says, “The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate.

Psalms 117:2 says, “For His faithful love to us is great; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Hallelujah!”

Psalms 107:1 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.”

The more we praise God in all things from dawn to dusk, the more we will start to see His goodness even when we experience the hard seasons of life.

Dear God,

Thank you for your goodness and love towards me. Help me to have a heart of praise and thanksgiving even when it’s hard to do so. Keep my eyes locked on who you are and not my circumstances or my emotions. You are faithful. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen.
